Dr Wood Leanne Jean

I have to thank Dr. Wood for my bi-lateral mastectomy surgery....both for her surgical skills, but also for her caring both prior to my surgery, in hospital and afterwards. She never once tried to talk me out of having a bi-lateral, was always there to listen to my reasoning and even as busy as she was at the time (July 2021), twice she returned my call after what was likely a very busy day at 9:30pm at night. Her office nurse said she would get to me and she did. Right from my diagnosis in late May to July 8th surgery, time moved fast and right along. She had me scheduled for surgery immediately....even though I changed the type of surgery twice, she made it happen. As well she also had a plastic surgeon appt. made immediately for me...which turned out I chose not to use in the end. I felt like I was in very good hands.

Upon a visit to Emergency, it was discovered that my husband required a surgical biopsy, and was referred to Dr. Wood. He had an appointment 4 days later, and met a wonderful surgeon who was prompt, professional, and amazingly caring. Dr. Wood went above and beyond to have what turned out to be, multiple procedures done with a minimum of waiting, and with no post-surgery complications. Her staff is also very courteous, knowledgable, and helpful. We are so fortunate to have such a highly skilled surgeon on Vancouver Island.

In August, Dr. Wood performed a colonoscopy and discovered a couple of polyps were cancer affected, and that surgery would be required. Having never been in a hospital in 72 years, this was disturbing to say the least. The support pre operation was excellent, with the office staff always "up", and the nurse in the Doctors office informative and supportive. Dr. Wood was the best. Hurried the date up as best she could, and performed the operation first class. Was in twice a day to check on me, and at my begging, was able to go home on the fifth day. Not one hitch. All the support you need, great results. I cannot imagine how anything could have made the ordeal easier to handle. The Best.

I went to see Dr. Wood for a hernia operation. She was recommended to me by my GP. Both the pre-operation office visit and the actual surgery were a VERY positive experience. Dr. Wood is wonderful as a person and great as a surgeon. Given that I am not an "experienced" patient, I was nervous about the operation. But Dr. Wood made me feel relaxed, and she and her whole team completed the operation without any problems or concerns.

Wonderful surgeon. Was able to obtain appointment very quickly and was scheduled for hernia operation. Went into the operating room on time, was out, alert and released very quickly. Thanks to a pain block - there was no pain in the first 10 hours. The next day I took 3 or 4 T's and since then no pain medicine. This is day 3 and I have been able to do office work from home yesterday and today. All 5's for this Surgeon.
